Semaglutide, Wegovy and Ozempic — what’s the difference?

Semaglutide is the drug name. Wegovy and Ozempic contain the same active medicine, but they’re licensed for different uses (Wegovy for weight loss; Ozempic for diabetes). Patients without diabetes who were previously using Ozempic off-label for weight loss are generally advised to switch to Wegovy.
