GLP-1 medications work just as well for women going through menopause as they do for younger women. In fact, some recent research suggests they might work even better when combined with hormone replacement therapy (HRT). The two seem to work synergistically: the HRT helps reduce visceral fat and may improve sleep and mood, while the GLP-1 helps with appetite control and weight loss. Women naturally lose muscle mass during the menopause transition, and rapid weight loss can accelerate this, which is why resistance training becomes even more important if you are taking these medications during menopause.
