Usually no. Titration is designed to be controlled and safe. Increasing too quickly can increase side effects and make treatment harder to tolerate. The prescriber will review the patient’s progress and decide the safest plan. It is important to follow this titration regime and our advice about moving up and down doses to reduce the impact and likelihood of side effects such as vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, nausea, and abdominal (stomach) pain.
