This is not a diet book. We do not tell you what to eat or give you meal plans and calorie counts. You probably already know plenty about nutrition. What most people lack is the emotional and psychological framework they need to change their relationship with food fundamentally. We developed this programme after years of working with patients struggling with their weight, and more recently, patients using GLP-1s who were struggling to stop their medication or had put weight back on after stopping it. The programme draws on evidence based psychological approaches including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Compassion Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, motivational interviewing and health psychology. We have taken the parts of these treatments that are most relevant and helpful for people with weight problems and combined them into a practical, accessible programme.
