Certain foods containing sulphur, such as broccoli, brussels sprouts, whole grains, and dairy products, might cause an increase in burps and flatulence with a sulphur smell. This can smell ‘eggy’ or of rotten eggs. While it’s not pleasant, it isn’t dangerous in any way.
Don’t worry, this side effect does tend to improve as your body gets used to the medication.
Here are some tips that may help:
Avoid sulphur rich foods.
Eat when you're hungry and only consume enough to feel comfortably full. This will help to minimise bloating and reduce the chance of burps
Opt for smaller, more frequent meals with blander and low-fat options.
After eating, try to maintain an upright position.
