Weight loss medications can sometimes cause acid reflux. This can feel like heartburn or burping or indigestion This does tend to improve as your body gets used to the medication. You can use over the counter medications to help with heartburn until it settles down.
There are also some other things you can do to help alleviate your reflux or indigestion:
Have three regular meals along with 1-2 snacks.
Eat slowly and take breaks during meals.
Avoid consuming large amounts of fluids around mealtime, just before exercising, or right before bed.
Steer clear of fatty foods, spicy foods, tomatoes, onions, garlic, coffee, tea, chocolate, carbonated drinks, and alcohol.
Stay upright after eating. When sleeping, elevate your head slightly or lie on your left side.
If symptoms trouble you while lying down, consider using an extra pillow while sleeping.
